Crassula

There are over 300 species of Crassula, most native to South Africa although there are species in South America and Australia. They are very varied in form and habitat, some being very small and compact plants ideally adapted to hard arid conditions such as Crassula perfossa, to larger shrubby forms like Crassula arborescens which can reach 2m in height. Many of the crassulas are in cultivation and are generally easy to grow. They are mostly hardy/semi-hardy and like regular watering. They will rot if they get too wet. Watering should be reduced after flowering.
